Effective hull cleaning with collection
Our ROV maintenance solution ensures a clean hull. Using a closed collection system, we effectively remove all types of biofouling while simultaneously suctioning all loosened particles.
This means that no paint residues or harmful biocides are released into the ocean. As more ports now prohibit traditional hull cleaning without collection, our ROV solution always meets the strictest environmental requirements in both ports and inland waters.
Algae, barnacle and biofilm removal with an ROV
Algae and barnacle removal with an ROV is a cleaning method in which a remotely operated underwater drone loosens and collects the fouling from the hull without a commercial diver entering the water. The result is a clean hull with less drag through the water, while the anti-fouling coating is spared unnecessary wear.
Biofouling degrades a ship’s performance and increases fuel consumption. A biofilm layer as thin as 0.5 mm across half the hull can raise your fuel consumption emissions by 25-30%. With heavier fouling, such as barnacles, fuel consumption can rise by up to 60% for an average-sized container ship.
